And so, my answer to the question, what is your favorite moment during a wedding, is the moment right after the couple Mr. and Mrs. together for the first time!! The next few seconds that follow can be really sweet as they look at each other, hand in hand, and begin their walk up the isle as family and friends cheer with shouts and tears. These moments are completely candid and unrehearsed. I love seeing the look on their faces as if to say, "Holy cow, what did we just do... I think we just got married! Yep, that just happened." Well, that's pretty much what I say inside my head as I photograph this scene. Hence the big smile on my face. Okay, okay, I'm teasing a little but seriously I love it.
So, with all of the planning and deciding and hype and stress that surrounds a wedding, let's not forget the heart of why we are all gathered here on this day.
Enjoy these images!

I'm pretty sure that "Southern Hospitality" came from Canada! All I can say about this experience and the way I was welcomed by both sides of Katie and Troy's wonderful families is that my very own family has some mad competition. Seriously, I will have my own stocking hanging on their mantle at Christmas now. ;) One of the biggest advantages about traveling to photograph a wedding for me is the extra time I get to spend getting to know the couple and their bridal party. It's almost more fun than getting to photograph the wedding! But alas, when it's time to pick up the camera to capture the day, parden the pun but, this is when everything clicks. The magic to capturing candid moments is to NOT interfere with them in the first place. I was given a great compliment the next day that while I photographed for nearly 14 hours nobody ever felt my presence. This is partly due to my NINJA prowess. ;) But mostly it's due to the incredible atmosphere of the day that Katie and Troy created and shared with their closest friends and family. It's easy to be overwhelmed on a wedding day and lose track of what's important and why you are there in the first place. Katie and Troy are genuine and they affectionately showed their appreciation to each and every person who came to celebrate this day with them. I really wanted to capture this atmosphere!
Troy and the boys got dressed and ready at his house while Katie and her girls prepped at her parents home. Their ceremony was held at the beautiful Our Lady of Assumption Parish Church of Windsor. Katie really wanted Troy to see her for the first time as she walked down the isle but she wanted to arrange a first touch. We found the perfect spot! Following the ceremony we took the entire bridal party to the famous Historic Hiram Walker Distillery. Holy cow this place is awesome and FULL of history, for example take Prohibition in the U.S. and this Canadian distillery and you get the infamous Al Capone's favorite "hangout"... you know, if you're interested in that sort of thing... I am! Here's a link Mr Hiram Walker himself! This place is a site to see and it's been beautifully restored over the years. I am thankful we had the opportunity to capture some really beautiful portraits in and around this charismatic property!! The evening reception was held at the Ambassador Golf Club. One of my favorite portraits came from here as Katey and Troy walked down a winding path with rolling hills and trees in the background. I may have done a dance after shooting this image.. ha! Ambassador's coordinator, Diane Farquhar, along with Milestone Weddings and Events did a gorgeous job designing the decor and intimate atmosphere for reception dinner! The night was filled with heartfelt speeches and toasts to the newlyweds and their family. The band, Toast & Jam kicked off the party and took it into the early hours of the morning!
The following couple of days I was able to do a little exploring so I took myself to Toronto and then Niagara Falls - Canada side! I will be making a post of the images I captured of the falls so check back for those soon!
This was a great wedding and it turned out to be more special to me than I had anticipated. It's always exciting to travel somewhere new but I made some new friends for life and I am thankful for that! Thank you Katie & Troy, congratulations again!! And thank you Todd & Debbie, Brad & Darlene, Sarah & Khalid, Julia, Chad, Erica, Matt, Amanda, Mike, Felicia, Zac, Kaitlyn, Reuben, Kyla, Brendon, Avery, Brady! Enjoy.

As time blithely and unconcernedly passes around us, a photograph stops it in it's tracks and says, no, this moment we keep! This one stays, so that we can remember in perfect detail what our mind will forget. This is why we value photographs. It is a value that we all posses and yet remains unique to only us. A value that tells us to cherish this moment because our heart says we will.
What value do you place on a memory? Your wedding will have countless moving parts. It will take hundreds of hours of preparation and planning. There will be details that take you days to decide on. Ceremony and Reception venues, food and cake tastings, bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen tuxes, flowers, bands and DJ's, limousine rentals, hotel rooms to book, invitations to send and not to mention finding the perfect dress!....I could go on.... Of course, you will want a photographer to document this momentous occasion for you as well.
You are going to want a photographer to capture your wedding and all of the detail and hard work that made this day possible. And when this day has passed and everything has calmed down and life has continued to move forward, you will forget about all of those details, and all that hard work and decisions you made for that day to happen. You will forget what your food tasted like, and how perfect all of your centerpieces were. You will forget the songs the band played that you danced too and you won't remember what kind of table linens you had at your reception. Fortunately, you do have something left that you will value above all else, your photographs. As a wedding photographer I cannot tell you how many times I hear brides and grooms say how quickly the wedding day passes and how thankful they are to have beautiful wedding images to help them remember it.
So when you are planning for your big day think about the gravity you place in your most valuable memories. Search for a photographer that you absolutely love and can trust to make this moment last forever.

There are a few points to consider when answering this question for yourself. Yes, a first look does allow for the opportunity to capture additional portraits and candid moments. And, depending on the timeline created between you and your photographer you could even use this time to get all of those family formal photos taken care of prior to the ceremony, when everyone is their freshest...especially with an outdoor ceremony. This may also be ideal in your timeline if you have chosen a ceremony that takes place right before sunset leaving you and your photographer with limited natural lighting conditions to capture your portraits afterwards. All this said, I personally think there is a more sentimental reason for doing a first look.
What I love about the first look is the chance for you and your fiancé to have a quiet moment when you both get to see one another and take everything in without distractions. You are alone, without the pressure of anyone else around. You can reflect why you are here to marry this person in the first place. Often times it can help calm your butterflies and amplify excitement you are feeling together about what is to shortly take place. It's about looking at your fiancé and saying, "You look absolutely stunning and I am so lucky that you are here with me today, I am going to marry you and I cannot wait!". This is the real reason, I believe, and if you feel this way perhaps it's right for you. And while this moment unfolds around you and your emotion is high we are grabbing real images only possible with the careful orchestration of a first look.
So when deciding if a first look is right for you, remember that it's not just a great way to get more bride and groom photographs but about having a collected moment together, alone, in the seconds before you take to the alter and say I do.

What a beautiful evening at Fort Desoto park with Laurin and Clay as we photographed their engagement session. It is March and technically still winter but 78 degrees and a cool breeze says it's time to put our toes in the sand. So... that's exactly what we did. Fort Desoto has become one of my all time favorite places to photograph. There is so much variety in the scenery that you can literally spend your entire evening in just one little spot of this beautiful park. I personally love the parts Florida that have been left raw and un-manicured and this place gives us just that. Adding an amazing and sweet couple like Laurin and Clay makes for some gorgeous photographs!! The light, the scenery, the chemistry... I love it! Enjoy these images of Laurin and Clay celebrating one another in this most beautiful place.

If you had just one photograph from your wedding what would it be? What would that photograph say?
During your wedding day there will be moments you will not forget, moments you will want to remember forever. It is likely that you will literally have hundreds of beautifully captured images retelling those moments as they unfolded around you. You will love every single one. And then, there will be that ONE image that says "This was us on our wedding day". The image that is displayed in your home, in your life, and says, "This moment stays." An image who's timeless value grows along with you. You have seen this image before, on your parents mantel, on your grandparents wall, carefully displayed behind glass and silver. "This moment stays." You have noticed this photograph as long as you can remember and you imagine what it must have felt like then. You imagine yourself in that photograph and how your moment will feel.

The very first time we met, I could see Kim and Nolan had a genuine connection. Watching how they spoke and how put the other first I knew they appreciated what they found in each other. Their engagement session was awesome and you could really tell! You can view that here.
I was really excited when Kim told me they decided to have their wedding at the Oxford Exchange as it was my very first time photographing a wedding here. It was such a great day! We started with Kim and Nolan both getting ready upstairs in OE followed by a First Look across the street at the beautiful University of Tampa! We got some really wonderful candid moments and gorgeous portraits. The ceremony was inside the OE and there was a great moment when Kim and Nolan shared the flame of their unity candle with all their guests, who each had their own candle. I hadn't seen that before! One of my favorite parts of the entire day actually happened during the ceremony when Kim's father, who was officiating the ceremony, became overwhelmed with emotion that his son stepped in to help finish his reading. Such a sweet moment! This really did speak to the tone of the entire day as family and friends celebrated this special moment in with the couple.
Then at midnight, as the countdown began, we rang in the new year as confetti cannons rained down on the party below. I captured an image that I LOVE of this moment as everyone is kissing, or on their phone taking selfies, and dancing!
Kim and Nolan, thank you so much for giving us the honor to document and preserve these memories for you, your family, and generations to come!
Thank you to all the amazing vendors this evening who came together for Kim and Nolan to celebrate this moment together. Thank you Sarah and Michelle for your attention to detail and impeccable service today and for making gorgeous weddings possible at the Oxford Exchange. Thank you Heather with Bay Bouquet, Kim with Chocolate Pi and Justin with Inspire Entertainment! Fabulous work everyone!

]]>Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Christie! If you missed their amazing engagement session then you can view it right here! Ryan is a pilot in the USAF and Kelsey is a pediatric ICU Nurse. Their wedding was laid back but classy with a lot of attention focused on the family and friends who came together this day for these two people. Ryan looked dapper in his Air Force Uniform and Kelsey went with the "less is more" approach and was flawless.
The wedding was held at the Old Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. The grounds outside the church were perfect for the bridal party photos. The landscaping, huge trees and the church itself gave a wonderful background and access to some perfect natural lighting! We followed the ceremony by taking Ryan and Kelsey along with their bridal party to the University of Tampa. This place is likely the most photographed spot in Tampa because of it's unique architecture blended with is beautiful park like grounds and a spectacular view of downtown Tampa. We got some AMAZING photographs!! The reception was held on the top floor of Bank of America building in the fancy Tampa Club. A perfect place for this event! I LOVE the photos of Ryan and Kelsey's first dance. It's obvious how happy these two make each other! :) The rest of the evening was a blast with tons of dancing and toasts and family. One of my favorite photos was during the cake cutting when Kelsey spontaneously posed with Ryan's USAF saber, which they used to cut the cake with. Hilarious!
Thank you Ryan and Kelsey for being so wonderful to not only work with but to get to know as well. I am honored to have been your photographer and present at your wedding along with so many of your favorite people surrounding you. I wish you all the best!

Tonights session is back at a field I recently discovered off Morris Bridge Rd. in the New Tampa area. Jenna and Ashton are musicians and had this amazing idea to setup a drum kit with their wedding date on the bass drum. With that idea they wanted a field to set it all up in and so I brought them here. I think it worked out perfectly! I love Jenna and Ashton's vibe and their super laid back personalities made it so easy to show their spark. One of my favorite moments was when we took the blooming dog fennel and shook all the little…. well, take a look for yourself! AWESOME photos!! Plus, I'm pretty sure J&A had a blast doing it! :)
This spot is becoming a quick favorite of mine, especially for this time of year. WIth the golden sun low in the sky kissing all of the brown tones in the brush it just screams fall for us here in Florida. This is definitely my favorite time of the year and my favorite light of the year. I suppose even with all the great locations there are to photograph here in Florida I still can't find anything that makes me happier than a simple field of weeds and woods. That's my playground. I hope you all enjoy! :)
Thank you guys again for such an amazing evening photographing you and getting to spend some time together. You two are wonderful and I loved this session. Your wedding is going to be awesome and I can't wait!
Oh… one more thing… Jenna, your hair is amazing! Jus sayin! ;)

Again, Fort Desoto provides our backdrop for tonights engagement session with Anna and John! When you begin to explore Florida you'll find hidden treasures that make this place so much more than just beach and surf. This park was perfect for these guys! Anna and John were so much fun and they were awesome right out of the gate. Like fine wine they just got better and better as the evening went on! I'm ecstatic over the awesome burgundy dress and bouquet that Anna had for the second half to the session. I would like to take credit for this but it was all her. ;) Perfect!! Well done you two! Thank you for being awesome and helping me capture some truly beautiful photographs of you!
For those of you who are interested in having your hair and makeup done, totally a great idea, especially as a trial run for the wedding, I highly recommend it! Anna used Cari Collinsworth with KyleLynn Weddings. Beautiful styling Cari, I love it! You really complimented Anna's natural beauty.
Their wedding is going to be held at the Powell Crosley Estate in Bradenton, FL and I can't wait!!! If you'd like to see the rest of their engagement session click here!

Meet Brooke and Corey! Tonights session took place in Historic Ybor City, just outside the view of downtown Tampa. I feel extremely lucky to have worked with so many really wonderful couples lately! Brooke and Corey are NO exception! :) You can't tell from looking at these images but Corey has an insane sense of humor and gave me plenty of hilarious outtakes throughout the evening. He sure does love his girl though and THAT is what I was after to document. I love their images and I loved spending this evening with them to capture some great moments. Engagement sessions are a lot of things. They are practice for being in front of the camera on your wedding day. They are a chance to get great photographs of you and your fiancé in a way you've probably NEVER had done before. They're a chance to make friends and build a report between you and the photographer (this is KEY for countless reasons). One thing an engagement session should not be is uncomfortable. Sure, most of us hate having our picture taken and how we look and we just feel awkward in front of a camera. Well.. that's because you've always had your dear sweet mother take your photos, and bless her heart… she takes FOREVER, and takes a bagillion shots and none of them come out….am I right? I'm teasing… sort of. (Love you mom!) Personally, I love doing these sessions and hope my enthusiasm comes across so that it's contagious and you can't help but enjoy it yourselves. My goal is make you feel as if there is no camera in my hands at all and it's just us all hanging out and having a great time. This is a big part in maintaining a candid feel and a flow that encourages you to be yourselves and get great images the you're going to LOVE. It's not just about you… it's about you and your fiancé together. :)
Thank you again guys for making this such a great evening! Brooke, you're stunning and so sweet! I cannot wait for your wedding! :) Enjoy!

Another amazing engagement session tonight at Fort Desoto with Hillary and CJ! I am in love with Fort Desoto's raw Florida charm and the variety it holds. Wether you are looking for architecture, the beach, sea oats, sand dunes, brush, cacti, driftwood, scrub forests, marsh….etc… you get it… This place is amazing! Hillary and CJ didn't disappoint me either with their session, holy molly!!! I am insanely excited about their photos and having seen just how awesome they are in front of the camera!! :) I'm pretty sure they have modeled for The Gap or J Crew and didn't tell me. ;) Stunning you guys!!! #bombshells
Another great evening with wonderful subjects and friends. I can't wait to photograph your wedding you two! Enjoy!! :)

Morris Bridge Park, part of the North Tampa Flatwoods Preserve was the setting for this autumn engagement session! I frequently visit this park with my kayak and paddle the Hillsborough River but this was my first time photographing a session at this park. I really love getting on the outskirts of town and into the less traveled areas. Tampa has a beautiful Northeast side about 15 miles outside of the city. There is a lot of nature to love out here and plenty of rivers and trails to travel. It's my playground so to speak! ;)
Stephanie and Robert crushed their session and we had a super easy time getting to know each other in front of and behind the camera. They are pretty quirky and fun with each other so it made for some really genuine and candid moments! There was a totally hilarious and spontaneous moment towards the end when they really let that personality show. You can scroll down and find that photograph, you can't miss it. ;)
Enjoy this session and thank you Stephanie and Robert for doing such a great job!

Getting ready at the Vinoy hotel, married at Mahaffey Theatre and reception followed at Nova 535 we welcome Kara and Chris to the blog! Congratulations you two!! I'm so happy to have been invited to document this day for literally one of the sweetest people I have ever met! Anyone who has ever met Kara would have to agree that she is a kind and genuine spirit who puts others before herself. Her bridesmaids are long life friends starting as early as kindergarden! That's awesome! :) Chris is a stand up gentleman himself and it's clear to see what draws these two to one another. One of my favorite ceremonial celebrations was when they took two "play dough" men and mashed them together to illustrate the joining of their lives and how they will be together forever. Love it! Chris also flipped a coin to decide which one of them would say their vows first!! Great ceremony you guys! Another extremely special treat was Father Jose Maria, grew up in Tampa but now lives in Peru, honored Kara and Chris with a very special sermon and played a song on the guitar. Evening after seeing many many ceremonies as a wedding photographer this was special to me. Wonderful ceremony guys! :)
As the party moved to Nova 535 for the reception it was time to party. Chris is a musician and was invited to play drums on stage with the band and killed it! So awesome to see so much personality come out from Kara and Chris in their wedding! Thank you guys again so much for having us. A big thank you to my great friend Aaron Lockwood for shooting with me and helping me get all these great moments captured for our couple! And thank you to everyone else involved who came together for Kara and Chris. Enjoy guys!!! :)

Meet Kelsey and Ryan! We had the pleasure of creating a very special engagement session tonight. Ryan is a pilot in the USAF and we commandeered an old 1950's biplane as a prop on the runway at Albert Whitted Airfield in St. Petersburg Florida. To start with I had to take them to a local park in downtown St. Pete because…. well, you know I just love my green space and can't help it! ;) I was totally prepared for the park to be merely a warmup to what was coming later with the airplane but I was pleasantly surprised with how well these two immediately owned the moment! My entire goal is to try and establish a level of comfort between myself, Ryan and Kelsey so that we can get some great images without the pressure of feeling like they are under the eye of the lens. Keep it fun and light is my motto. Well…. I'm pretty sure I could have been standing there with a lit stick of dynamite playing hot potato and singing "Just a spoon full of sugar" (Marry Poppins ya'll) and they wouldn't have been surprised whatsoever. These guys were just as chill and happy to be there together enjoying this moment…. exactly how it should be. Thank you guys for making this so fun!!
Okay… then we get to the Bi-Plane on the runway…. SICK! I'm so thrilled with how perfectly everything came together. A HUGE thank you to Tom at http://biplanerides.com for making this gorgeous vintage aircraft available tonight. By the way guys, Tom offers sunset flights over St. Pete in this puppy!! I'm pretty sure he's only got one parachute though and well… I'm teasing!
We opted for this plane for many reasons, mostly security in getting out on MacDill Air Force Base would literally be impossible. I'm glad it worked out because we got some great photos that definitely relate to Ryan and Kelsey's military lifestyle. Being an Air Force brat myself, thanks dad, I was pretty excited to meet a real Air Force Pilot. Ryan, keep up the great work and thank you for your service! Aim High! :) I hope you enjoy these engagement photos and I can't wait for your wedding!! :) :)

Hidden in the Thornton Park area of Downtown Orlando, Dickson Azalea Park isn't your average Florida metropolitan park. I've visited this park a few times but never had an opportunity to photograph in it until now. Kyla loves bridges which is one reason we picked this location. There is an old white concrete arch bridge that crosses a small creek that provides the focal point of this park. Kyla and Matt killed it out here and we really had a great time getting to know each other better! I especially loved Kyla's dress and the beautiful texture in the patterns. Very classy! I think the engagement photos came out fun, laid back, and happy which pretty much describes Matt and Kyla's personalities! Thank you both for a really great time and I hope you enjoy your photos together. Can't wait for the wedding!!! :)

I wanted to share this really great intimate wedding, at the Sand Pearl Resort in Clearwater, of Angie and Todd. Not only is Angie a DIY bride but she miraculously managed to pull off planning this beautiful wedding in just over a month. I can't imagine how crazy hard that must have been but she KILLED it! Her ceremony details were very elegant and tasteful. It was perfect for the scene on the Sand Pearl's pool deck overlooking the beach. Her reception place settings and table scape was elaborate with gorgeous florals and beach embellishing like coral, starfish, sea shells, and drift wood. I loved it! That all being said…. this was a very sweet and intimate wedding with a lot of great emotion. We had a narrow window before a massive thunderstorm rolled in to get some stunning portraits on the beach. I couldn't be happier with how those turned out with the contrasting sky and the bright orange light from the setting sun. Beautiful!!! We really got some beautiful moments and I love how sweet Todd treated Angie! Enjoy looking through their photos! Thank you Angie and Todd for having me document this day for you. You two are perfect together, congratulations! :)
Yes, I actually got recruited to assist with buttoning up Angie's dress. That was a first for me and I think I did a pretty darn good job if I say so myself! ;)

If you've been to the blog in the last 6 months you may remember Veronica and Jeremy's engagement session. (here's a link back to that post) They were amazing at their engagement session so I wasn't surprised when their weddings photos turned out un-be-lieve-able!!! They had a very intimate wedding with close friends and family. They got dressed and ready at the Renaissance Vinoy hotel and had their ceremony at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. Even though the wedding was intimate there was no doubt this was a classy joining of two people. Veronica looked absolutely stunning and Jeremy was definitely a dapper gentleman. I LOVED documenting their wedding and we got some truly beautiful photographs. It's clear the chemistry these two have and they are as genuine as you can come. I could write so much more but please, just go enjoy the photographs! Veronica and Jeremy, thank you both so very much for having me present for this day in your lives. You guys are special. Congratulations!

Meet Nicole and Matt, from Illinois! Their wedding will be on the beach so we decided that downtown St. Petersburg would make the perfect unique backdrop for their engagement photos. With all the great spots downtown St. Pete has to offer it's hard decide just where to start and where to stop. This evening we used the grounds at The amazing Dali Museum, The Mahaffey Theatre, The St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts, and Stroub Park for these engagement photos.
I love photographing engagement sessions sometimes even more than the wedding…. wait… did I just say that out loud? Don't get me wrong, weddings are special and awesome fun but during the engagement session there is a lot of reading happening. Both by me and the couple in front of the camera. This is the time when we get to experiment a little and learn how to interpret one another. In most cases this is the first time you'll get to seriously spend time with your photographer without any other distractions around. It's not only time to take photos, but time to become comfortable with each other and the process of being photographed. There is chemistry involved and it's super important to me that I establish a great working dynamic with the couple so that I can see their chemistry together… That is the goal, it's MY goal. This is why I do engagement sessions, so that when I walk into your room as you are preparing for your wedding we've already established a connection. I don't want you to even see a camera when I take your portrait… just friends.
Nicole and Matt, you guys are rock stars and I cannot wait until we meet again at your wedding! Great job with your session and thank you for a great evening of capturing images together! Enjoy! :)

Kate and Justin's engagement session took place at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor Florida. I had actually photographed here very recently and in no way was I disappointed coming back. I love this park and the variety it holds! The weather was great but SO HOT!!! I'll take it though considering we were given the most beautiful sunlight to photograph with. I've been so lucky to have had so many wonderful couples to work with lately and these guys are NO exception! We all had a great time getting to know one another and I could NOT be happier with how Kate and Justin's images turned out for them. You guys are freaking awesome and it has been my pleasure this far to photograph you. I can't wait for the wedding!! Enjoy!

Tonight's engagement session started at Fred Ball Park just off Bayshore Blvd. Fred Ball is a small park nestled quietly in South Tampa, you'd miss it completely if you weren't looking, and I've been wanting to photograph here for a while now. Kim and Nolan are SUCH a delight to be around. We actually met up prior to the session to have a little drink at Mad Dogs & Englishmen, fantastic South Tampa pub, and just chat about the upcoming session and such. I LOVE getting to know the couples I photograph and make new friends. Our session took us down to Bayshore Blvd. along the water and then to downtown where we photographed by the AMAZING Tampa mural and finished at the iconic Tampa Theatre. Kim and Nolan, you guys are a true pleasure and I am so happy for you both! I immediately noticed how genuine you are with one another and it makes ALL the difference in the world. It shows in your photographs. :) Thank you both for allowing me to be part of this moment for you. I am impatiently awaiting your wedding on New Year's Eve at the Oxeford Exchange!

Congratulations to Sandra and JJ on crushing their engagement session! The wonderful Florida afternoon storms toyed with us on this evening but with a little patience and some luck we emerged with some fantastic images of these two! Thank you guys for sticking it out. At first Sandra and JJ expressed having a few butterflies having never done a photo shoot like this but just like jumping into a cold Florida spring, once you're in it's not so bad. ;) And don't worry guys, I photoshopped out all the butterflies... ha! Totally kidding... as you will see from their photos. You two did PERFECT! It was really nice getting to know you both better and why this park means so much to you. Thank you for a wonderful evening and enjoy the imagery!

This was a special evening as I got to witness and capture Jon proposing to his girl Kelly on Ana Maria Island. I was trying really hard be discrete and not be that creepy guy randomly taking photos of the moment! We had the beach to ourselves as the thunder and lightning threatened all around us. As if ordained by the heavens the storms loomed all around us but left a window of calmness for Jon to get down on one knee and ask the question…..Success! She said YES! I've only gotten to photograph a few proposals thus far and it's a pretty special event to watch happen in front of you. It's definitely one of those moments in which real emotion takes over and someone's world moves in slow motion for them. I'm happy I was able to photograph one of these moments for Jon and Kelly. Thank you guys for sharing this moment of yours with all of us. Enjoy!
]]>
I'm not sure why this was my first time ever visiting this amazing place but boy was I surprised at the beautiful variety it holds. The three of us had the gardens to ourselves this evening and they provided the perfect backdrop for this incredible and sweet pair. We took our time and enjoyed exploring this park while creating some wonderful natural and candid images. From the very beginning, and I mean months prior to when we first met at my office to discuss wedding photography, their connection with one another was clear as day. This is a huge element to me that I look to incorporate into images of couples. It's not just about documenting this moment in their life, it's about showing something that they share with each other that is unique to only them. It's sort of like trying to catch a glimpse of their spark. It's fun, it's meaningful, and I love it! Veronica and Jeremy are DA BOMB! and we had a complete blast during this session. I am so happy to have been given this opportunity with them and cannot wait to share the wedding photos we get! You guys are awesome! Enjoy :)

Meet these two love birds, Henry and Elizabeth! We had an absolute blast during their downtown Tampa engagement session! We started at the University of Tampa and ended across the river at Curtis Hixon Park with some amazing shots under the street lights. I've been lucky enough to photograph the gorgeous campus of UT and downtown skyline for years now. I LOVE it! And I'm always surprised at the creative potential this place continues to hold. What enhances this even more is having two people who personify the uniqueness of the architecture and landscape. I am grateful to have gotten to know Henry and Elizabeth during this shoot. They owned it! They have a certain admirable quality about them I think is obvious. They literally enhance one another. I'm sure anyone who knows them can see what I mean. This is exactly the sort of chemistry that makes for real and lasting photographs. Enjoy some of the favorites from their session! :)
Thank you guys again for this and I simply cannot wait until your wedding at Karnes Stables next year! :)
I'd like to share the unique wedding of Stephanie and Luke and what I found special about this one. Stephanie and Luke were here visiting, from Australia, when suddenly Stephanie's Grandmother passed away. Stephanie was hoping to introduce her to Luke for the first time as she knew her Grandmother would LOVE him. So, while family gathered in the Grandmother's honor Stephanie and Luke decided to celebrate this moment by getting married to one another. Alex, Stephanie's amazing sister, got to work making phone calls and, in two days, had coordinated everything needed for a beach wedding ceremony. When I arrived to meet the family and begin documenting this day I immediately realized how close and loving this they were to each other. There was no mistake why Stephanie and Luke had chosen to say their vows to one another. Their ceremony, intimate, simple, and straight to the point made the importance of what was taking place that afternoon even more meaningful. Their union was the focus and not overshadowed by a single distraction or fleeting detail. I immediately noticed just how genuine Stephanie and Luke are and we suddenly connected as if we were old friends. I even got invited to share Thanksgiving with them this year. ;) That's right guys, I didn't forget!
Enjoy the highlights below from Stephanie and Luke's wedding. Alex, thank you for calling me! I am thankful I got to be here for this. I wish you two all the best! Congratulations again.

I kinda love these guys! No seriously, talk about two people who clearly need to be married to each other! haha! :) Check out this great session we did together at the beautiful Edward Medard Park. The park is just outside Plant City, Florida and it's very unique. This was my first time visiting this park and it had a ton of diversity for an awesome engagement session. Ok, back to Melanie and Tyler. These guys just click with each other and the three of us definitely hit it off on the right foot. One of the benefits of having an engagement session is to establish a level of comfort and chemistry between the couple AND the photographer. Nailed it! I'm so glad Melanie and Tyler found me and I get to photograph their wedding! Thank you guys! Enjoy!

Katie and Troy are engaged and decided to come down from Ontario Canada to have their engagement photos taken on St. Pete Beach here in Florida. They met at a wedding where Troy was laying down some beats with his mixer, as the DJ that night, when he caught Katie's attention. We've recreated this moment as you will see below, exactly as it happened.... okay, maybe not exactly as it happened but pretty darn close. ;) You guys are an awesome couple and so easy to photograph! A nice surprise at the end of the evening was my invitation to have dinner with them and their family right there on the beach. BBQ! My freaking favorite! Thank you guys for treating me so nice but most importantly for letting me get to know you both better through this session! Here's to looking forward to your wedding! Cheers!

Mallie and Eric are a lot of fun and super sweet to each other.... A perfect match really! They KILLED their engagement session at Fort Desoto Park so I knew the wedding was going to be amazing. I think you'll agree after looking at their images just how natural and loving their connection was captured behind the camera. One of my favorite moments of the day was the when they ran into the ocean, arm in arm, to trash the dress! AWESOME! I love the courage! Thank you guys so much for having us be such an important part of your special day! We wish you all the best and happiness forever. It has truly been an honor to get to know you both. Enjoy!

This recent photo shoot shows the potential this club can actually offer. Jennifer from Event Design and Rachael from Good Food Catering teamed up to show how beautifully this could be done. I personally love simple. You'll find the ceremony setup on the Country Club Lawn can be as simple as you see here and still have the class you'd always want. The dark plum linen draped mahogany arch along with the rich dark brown Chiavari chairs with creme colored seats elegantly compliment the scene.
Inside the ballroom Jennifer used creative uplighting and drapery to transform the room beautifully. The place settings, floral arrangements and candlelight accents bring the character together perfectly.
This photo shoot was fun and just a great example of just how important having a professional decorator and coordinator can be. It's all about details!

For me, I really love seeing this theatre decorated up with linens and tables beautiful flower arrangements and place settings. It's not a whole lot different than an elegant wedding reception in some ways. I literally can't wait to photograph a wedding here! Wether you are looking for a wedding venue or a corporate event venue I highly recommend the STRAZ center and it's exceptional staff. The possibilities are truly endless here. Enjoy!
Special shout out to Frank and Toby and the rest of the staff @Conceptbait for the incredible decor, transforming this theater into what you see here. Beautiful and tasteful! Thank you!
Thank you Sharon, Maggie, Nikki, Rick, and the staff at the STRAZ for making this all possible!

This was a beautiful wedding, and amazing couple, that took place in St. Petersburg FL. After getting ready at the Hilton downtown Shauna and Stephen had their "first look" downstairs where we got awesome photos of the couple for the first time all dressed up! Then we were off to Club NOVA 535 lounge downtown as well. NOVA 535 is a perfect blend of a night club mixed with a classy modern art lounge and it's super cool! The chill atmosphere was a perfect fit for the couple. We had a beautiful ceremony in the courtyard and brought the party inside to celebrate the evening. Thank you both for having us be part of your day. Thank you to everyone involved that made this great day come together. Enjoy!!
